Anyone know if it has the ''Do What Thou Wilt'' in the run off groove?

forget about the mote be it one, not sure how many of the originals had it on, most of them I assume, I know my copy did, would be amused if i had given away a priceless relic

I didn't know about the scratched in message.

When I get up, I'll check my own copy, of the original release. We should, perhaps have a separate thread about the different things folk have written.

Many years ago I did a 12" single, which was cut at Abbey Road - and we got them to inscribe a little private joke, for us.

Machineryelf,

Sorry, but the recent reissue vinyl of "Led Zeppelin III" doesn't have either of the handwritten inscriptions in the run-off.

thanks for that, shame as it was all part of the otherness of III, along with the rumours that the spinning wheel somehow revealed some secret, I know at least 2 people who took the sleeve apart looking for some mystical revalation

That wheel would have made a beautiful picture disc. Missed opportunity.

Glam Descendant,
You know, there was a bootleg of the Schaefer Music Festival (New York City, 1969) and Milan, 1971 shows that was just that:

I bought one in 1986. The quality of the recordings were pretty low-fi, but it was novel to see the entire wheel design completely exposed as I always kept the circle set to expose Jimmy Page's face in the die-cut circle just under the "l" in "Zeppelin."
