'I'm waiting for my man....26 dollars in my hand....'
Erm that's 96 dollars through amazon....
Love the 3rd album but is it worth a further fix or am I likely to overdose on poor quality shit with a dilution factor of x6
Recommendations please all you VU junkies....

I'm so not the market for a dozen mixes of the same song, even if they're as perfect as Candy Says. I could change the volume a little on the speaker right now and call it: "I'm Beginning to See The Light, 23/10/2014 Mix". The Live at the Matrix recordings would be the only reason why I'd try this, but I'm sure they can be had elsewhere. Personally, I'd just give the gonzoid lo-fi noise fests that are the Sweet Sister Ray and Live at the Gymnasium bootlegs a spin instead.

Here's the tracklisting for the VU set anyway: http://www.superdeluxeedition.com/news/the-velvet-underground-45th-anniversary-super-deluxe-edition/

Hehe that other thread you just made makes me think you might get more out of ever-so-slightly tweaked versions of a familiar track than I would. Might be worth waiting for someone who's actually heard the set to post, I think.

(Fun fact: this was the first V.U. album I bought as a young teen after being told that, "Their self-titled album is a mental sado-masochistic trip, mate. You have to hear it!" Needless to say, I was extremely confused when I finally sat down to play it...)

The murder mystery is one of those tracks that could go on forever - think I'll try looping it to 20 minutes!
I'd extend Ocean to 24 hours as it's my fave velvets track - always thought that track belonged on this album

You know how The Gift lets you play all of John Cale's narration in one speaker/headphone, and the other plays just the music. I read somewhere that The Murder Mystery was designed to play just like that, so you could separate the dual crazed ramblings. Apparently someone botched this up completely in the mixing process and it all ended up just bleeding together. Would be interested to see if modern technology could get it back to the way it was planned. I'd imagine it would be like listening to two entirely different songs (or three if you count the original) with just Mo/Doug, and Lou/Sterling not talking over each other.
