I could certainly mention all manner of Dark Ambient music like Halo Manash, or the dirty, voyeuristic feeling one gets listening to Peter Hammill's Over, or the terrifying primitive electronic burblings of Kluster (the religious texts only make them sound more ominous), the extant work of soon-to-be-victims of suicide like Yanka Dyagileva, or evil, operatic Martial Industrial artists like Helga Pogatschar, but they all sound like wan conniption fits compared to Penderecki's Threnody to the Victims of Hiroshima.

The first few SPK albums are quite the bummer and for some reason klaus nomi singing ding dong the witch is dead always makes me sad.

Aye to what IanB just said. So it's with the deepest sincerity that I'll say that Puff The Magic Dragon has always made me want to jump off a tall building.

I'd say definitely Wesley Willis in that case. A very sorry spectacle I had the misfortune of seeing live. The crowd thought it was funny but I wasn't laughing one bit!
