Mojo Sept Issue Cope Interview
Jul 26, 2014, 15:06
Hi,

there is an interview with Julian in the new September issue of mojo magazine.

Some great quotes from Julian in the Mojo feature:

Here is one of them:

Ref voting at elections (hasn't voted since the 1970's) the choice " a cunt or a cunt"

Voting should be MANDATORY. Even if they have to include a 'none of the above' option. New Labour might be cunts, but they're not as cunty as the Tories and the (soon to be extinct) Lib Dems. Theres also the local candidates and 'loonies' to choose from. Billy Connolly comes out with this crap too - "don't vote it only encourages them" - (ahaha) - must be nice to be so loaded politics doesn't touch you. Didn't think JC came into this category though(?). Must've made more from the St. Julian era and property deals than I imagined.

If nothing else JC needs to get his hippy arse in gear and spare a thought for the Bedroom Tax and ATOS victims. This and the Belfast debacle ain't exactly endearing the guy to me...

Gone to bed. Julian Cope is not really a politician, just a social commentator. Love your fellow being. You spout bile TP. Politics touches everybody. Have a think man.

I agree with the voting being mandatory, there's so little interest in this country in politics now it is literally the cunt or the cunt which is very poor considering there are better parties out there to vote for but don't get a look in because of our shit political system.

However, it's his choice not to vote, as long as people aren't stupid enough to follow his example.

Is there a link? Mandatory voting is a good idea, but it's not democratic.

You can withold your right to say 'fuck yous'. That is democratic.

Like the right to strike, which is seemingly a thing of the past, unfortunately.

Link to what? The interview?

I was hoping there was going to be a general strike this year, seems not to have happened again!
