My copy has arrived today. Loving the Weatherall mix.

There's also a selection of other "music from one three one" listed on the back cover with mocked up sleeves - "album and single sleeves designed by Avalon Cope". Nice.

Is the Weatherall mix the same as on Bandcamp or something different? Besides that, is there anything else on the release? And are the "other bands" mentioned on the back cover the same ones that are on the 131 website? My curiosity has definitely been piqued!

Just opened mine up - can't play it yet - the Weatherall remix is on one side - the original Cope mix is on the other

Wow, didn't know it was a physical item. Cope mix is up for download on bandcamp again.

Plus a couple of Skin Patrol 'live' recordings on youtube. I'm guessing this is part of the 'charade', unless their actually is a band called Skin Patrol.

Plus a selection of other 'hits of the day'.

As far as I can be humanly sure Skin Patrol did exist (as did the song Rock Section). The fact that the actual song is as mythical as it appears to be ensures it weaves its way into the One Three One universe quite cunningly - further blurring the distinction between real-world and Cope's alternate novel timeline.
I suspect these 'real' elements were chosen with a great deal of thought given the implications of their appearance in the book. They certainly add to the 'charade' whilst being seemingly actual fact.
Interesting that the article linked below suggests that the song Rock Section was 'received' during a seance and possibly from the dead spirit of Jim Morrison.
Of course, in One Three One, Jim Morrison is alive ("and successful") which only adds to the mystery (from our point of view).

Yeah, I'm also on the fence regarding the authenticity of One Million Fuzztone Guitars / Skin Patrol / Colors out of Time. But there was a review of Colors Out of Time "Rock Section" on Unsung way back in 2000 by a certain Dave Furgess, so if it is all a hoax, it shows an incredible amount of planning and patience on behalf of Mr. Cope!

Can anyone who has heard it verify that the download is the same as the Original Mix?

There are copies of Colours Out of Time's Rock Section knocking around on eBay (and not sold by 'Metsamor') so that's definitely real. There also appears to be genuine OMFTG product out there too - but they seem to be sooo culty that the inherent mystery only deepens the questions as to their genuine existence (the bio on their website indicates Skin Patrol as a short lived outfit based in Nottingham - seemingly the home of the fictional Rock Section).
Like you say, it would be a rather elaborate and involved bit of longterm planning on Cope's behalf if it all turned out to be part of the greater scheme.*
Oh, it's all too much,

Perhaps this is a line of inquiry someone (who is going) may wish to take up at the Tabernacle on Monday - see how much JC is prepared to reveal/admit/further shroud in mystery...........

I've answered my own question - yes it is.

The Weatherall mix may as well be a completely different track. It's good though.

The bands are pretty much the same as the ones on the 131 website, but it's nice to see them all there as some mythical discography. I wonder whether any of them will exist in a physical format at some point - I like the idea of some 7" , 12" and LPs suddenly materialising.
