Interesting round-table conversation between some of the big guns like Mutant Sounds and WFMU: http://www.theawl.com/2012/11/the-rise-and-fall-of-obscure-music-blogs-a-roundtable
The notion of "internet nostalgia" is a pretty scary one to me, but nevertheless I'm not going to deny utilising these myself. Not so much anymore- I almost feel like I'm set for music for the next few hundred years- but in the past definitely. Say what you will about not being able to hold the finished product, but at least I get to hear revelations like peak period Can's collaboration with a Turkish rocker called Alex on a regular basis.

Talkin' of Mutant Sounds, this looks tasty: http://www.redbullmusicacademy.com/magazine/cyber-secrets-mutant-sounds
Haven't got time to listen to them right now as it's an absolutely diamond day and I should leave the nest this very minute. I've heard most of the bands but probably not those cuts. Bunch'a weirdos if you ask me. Loveable weirdos.
