Astralcat wrote: I couldn't agree more. Mark Knopfler is such a tedious soulless guitarist and Dire Straits are utterly bland AOR dad rock. Walk Of Life is beyond hideous - a creation of pure evil. Surely there was malice aforethought. It resides in the bowels of Satan's very own jukebox along with Come On Eileen and Margarita Time. Thinking of Come On Eileen, I saw Kevin Rowland on Jools Holland sing a very decent song to close the show. Then as the song ended he started speaking complete rot. I just can't get why that happens as well. Pretentious git!

Van Morrison Neil Sedaka Marvin Hamlisch Also re the quote "Music made by people who misunderstood Sniffin Glue's "Here’s a chord. Here’s another. Now form a band” Mark P is happy to tell anyone that despite loads of people saying that was a Sniffin' Glue quote - it actually came from the fanzine "Sideburns" and later reproduced in "Strangled". He'd love to have coined that quote!

Neil Sedaka! I forgot him! I rather wish it had stayed that way. Marvin Hamlisch ? Name rings a bell but I can't place him. Probably for the better.

Don't know much about the guy, but Iread an interview with him, and he came across as a complete knobhead, and another interview with ex band members, and grudges aside, he came acrosss as an unpleasent, arrogant control freak.
