He lived the musical life of a whole orchestra. Anyone got a count on the number of albums he put out, including collaborations and some of his old bands? Must be almost 100. Bye, Con (also the name of an awesome album of his, by the way).

Sad news. I’d place Rot in my krautrock top 10, and consider Con/Ballet Statique and Conal to be classics. Obviously, with so many releases, not everything is great, but I’d wager that anything from the 70s and early 80s is worth checking out. We should also remember Con’s role as founder of the Zodiak Club, which hosted Kluster, Tangerine Dream, Ash Ra Temple and Agitation Free. Con played an absolutely seminal role in the birth of the Berlin krautrock scene, and without his presence, it wouldn’t have coalesced the way it did. RIP Con, you will be missed.
