i was cleaning up my itunes and found several "unknown artists" at the bottom where i uploaded cd-rs and never followed through with identifying it. One was a T.Rex cd. So in the process of identifying all the songs on the cd i listened to the whole mix i made and thought to myself....damn i really like this mix.....here is what it was: T.Rex: Tanx to Dandy of the Underworld futuristic dragon intro jupiter liar electric slim and the factory hen sensation boulevard ride my wheels venus loon explosive mouth galaxy change dandy of the underworld universe Jason B. Sad till dawn golden belt i particularly enjoy "jupiter liar" going into "electric slim and the factory hen" and also "jason b. sad" followed by "till dawn". Anyway this felt fresh and nice upon listening to it. Anyone care to comment or share a track listing they devised of another band they are proud of? |

I really like that late period T.REX - And I gotta say, it's a fine compilation. Yeah. 'Jupiter Liar' is the puppy's parts and nice to see 'Venus Loon' in there, too. BTW, On a Bolanic note; have you seen this: http://bolan.bandcamp.com/album/zinc-alloy-home-demos

Great thread suggestion! I recall that someone (Lord Lucan, I think?) posted a Heroes-era Bowie playlist on here a while back that I made up to listen to on my iPod. Blopdy excellent it is to - it really opened my ears to some tracks that previously I hadn't paid much attention to before.

There were very good suggestions from fellow HHers for post-Japan Sylvian and Simple Minds playlists that I still listen to and Cope's BOC and Kiss comps are also worth having/making. In terms of my favourite band that virtually no one in the UK has heard of I offer you this Rheostatics compilation and strongly suggest that you check out their slightly proggy post punk Socialistic power pop post-haste. Fans of a musical spectrum that runs from XTC to Jellyfish via The Ruts and the Only Ones should be fairly delighted. here is a julian cope compilation i made and still like to listen too. I think i was striving for the essence of epic tracks from the peggy suicide to autogeddon era. i have always been here before dragonfly safesurfer highway to the sun autogeddon blues s.t.a.r.r. car subtle energies commision upward at 45 degrees cut my friend down
