Believe me about 10 years ago i was seriously anti Macca until someone dug out the 12" of Temporary Secretary and played me both sides. Seems whilst he was locked away in his Scottish island he bought loads of new technology (Moogs,PPG wave and Korgs) and his own 8 track Studer, got very stoned on good hash and made one of the strangest solo Beatle Lps ever.

In the process created the Beta Band, Balearic and Electroclash in one sweep.

I'm getting this! Well what the fuck ?! I'll be off to buy a Paul McCartney solo album!

Om Shanti :-)

I don't have any Yoko, and what I've heard fairly recently I've been seriously impressed by. What do you recommend I get apart from her POB version ?

Cheers Tone. I'll track them down. I loved the title of a recent album of hers: Yes, I Am A Witch.

An excellent fuck you I am cool and I know my worth to all the straight heads!

The Fireman stuff was good at the time but now just sounds like a budget Orb album or some weak Goa trancepants stuff. Youth has too much control for my liking.
Even McCartney has said after remastering McCartney II he would like to go back and try some similar stuff as its suprised him at how current it sounds. Last months Mojo magazine had a good article on McCartney II and all his lost classics.

I passed on it as I haven't bought Mojo in years. I thought it was just yet another tired Beatles/Stones/Dylan/Neil Young issue. I'm a Shindig man myself, but I'll buy this one.
