Chuck Eddy is a lousy guide for consumers, but can be a very amusing writer.

Cheese is good if it moves you . . .

the book was the capstone of his critical career,

he wrote from the mid 80's to mid 90's

the book was his last joke(a guide that misguided),

the last i saw him

he traded in several hundred cd's he had accumulated and was finished,

moved on

and most people haven't gotten the joke

This topic has come up before, I'm still a bit perversely proud of the stink I caused in 2004 by reviewing an ELP album (still one of the top 5 stickiest threads in the history of the forum) -- though the truth is I have hardly written anything since then:

Reading that thread made me feel a warm glow of nostalgia too! I'm also quite proud of the fact that a comedy alter-ego I created could have helped to stir up such a can of worms - I never for a minute thought anyone would take those aarfanaardvark reviews seriously enough to be offended by them.

What?!? That was you? Mystery solved!

(I did think those snarkanardvaark reviews were pretty funny.)

I guess that sometimes people might just want to say "give this another chance" maybe?
Have to say though, the only reason I've only ever posted two reviews on Unsung is because I reckon all the other stuff in my collecton is either well known to folks here, or totally crap! And I really felt is worth shouting out for The Walkingseeds and Honolulu Mountain Daffodils.
Forever Changes has to be one of my favorite all time records but I really doubt that anyone here needs either to be told about it or to reconsider its importance.
