I wasn't sure at first, but as soon as that gorgeous dubby bass comes thundering in I was hooked. . I picked up Jah Wobble's Blake tribute 'Songs Of Innocence & Experience' from the library the other day. Haven't played it yet, but it's on the pod. I'll give it a go in the Deli section later. Fingers crossed that it's as good as I'm hoping. I must admit that although I like the concept, I wasn't too keen on the Blake thing. Might check it again this week though just to make sure!

Jim Tones wrote: Squid Tempest wrote: Porter Ricks - Biokinetics Thanks to Jim Tones for pointing me (reluctantly) at the d/load for this. I really wanted the CD but could get a reasonably priced one. Great to hear this again, I've been iPodding it all week. Fog-bound beats roll on uneasy seas and roil around your head. Splendid. I know what you mean, when it's something you really like- you must have it! Good to locate free downloads when the prices get a bit too ridiculous ;-) Tiz true. I hope they get around to properly re-releasing it sometime though, it's well worth it.

From your list this week, this release in particular, is amazing. I could say the exact same thing about you. Every release on your list I've heard is just gorgeous, and everything I haven't heard I know I should. It's very cool to be on a site where someone lists albums like Satwa alongside things like the Dead C (not to mention Philip Cohran and the Artistic Heritage Ensemble!).

Afternoon... Asva - What You Don't Know Is Frontier. Excellent psyche stoner doom drone with country bits n pieces. I am Colossus - S/T. Mega Heavy Brit sludge doom with some tantalising light bits. Julian Cope - The Unruly Imagination. Such a shame the lecture never happened! Julian Cope - Jehovah Kill. 8^) New Young Pony Club - Fantastic Playroom. Achingly trendy but fun nevertheless. She can't sing for poo but it kinda works. Edgar Broughton Band - Sing Brother Sing. Ace! (Saw WASA WASA for £4. That's where I'm off to after this, fingers crossed. Edit: It was there! Huzzah! Shall play it in the pod later.) Opeth - Ghost Reveries. Mega. Asteroid - S/T. Top Swede retro stoner. Uriah Heep - Wake The Sleeper. Heeptastic! Madonna - The Immaculate Collection. Madgemungous Prince - 3121. A pretty strong album for the post Jehovah's Witness years. Van der Graaf - Quiet Zone/Pleasure Dome. I know it's not THEE lineup, but I like this a lot. Discharge - Society's Victims (Disc 1 of 3). Top comp of angry ponk! Think that's mostly it. Have a nice week Pick Poppers.

Well, I was hovering around the marinaded olives and exotic cheeses, willing it to inspire, but I'm underwhelmed by Jah's Blake effort.

I have a vague feeling I mahy have bought a single of that (have to check) but can't really remember it. Do cheese and olives often bring inspiration, or is that an entirely incidental detail?
