Not that I care much about such things, but Letts does like to assume the high ground and others like to on his behalf as well, so there he is right down there with Lydon and his buttery ways.
Infact, Sky's worse.
Hehe.

Horrible. Dreadful (apologies).

Without wanting to have a total Bill Hicks moment ("If you work in marketing please do me a favour and kill yourself") the trick is to never ever watch the ads if you can possibly avoid it. It's total poison. One of life's minor annoyances is how Sky sync their programming so nearly all their channels are showing ads at the same time.

I saw it during Scotland Today (our 6 o clock news show)!
We got Virgin Media so Sky One was cruelly snatched from us by big bad Murdoch.
Apart from The Simpsons, it was all bolox anyway;-)

Sky? Absolute total bollocks apart from the football. Which is also er ... total bollocks most of the time. So I guess we are paying for it for the NHL on NASN and so my kids can watch America's Next Top Model and Family Guy. Bargain.

That's was Sky+ is great you just fast forward through them ;-)

In many ways I have no idea why we pay for Sky, I only watch stuff that would be on 'normal' telly anyways plus the odd documentary. Basically we're paying for the record/pause/fast forward through the ads bit...

Surely you can only ff what you've recorded in yer box but not as it 'goes out'?
I know you can rewind a bit as it's transmitted (our Virgin shebang does that).

Oh you mean that slavishly watching 'the game' or 'a game' just coz yer meant to, even though you spend half yer time moaning through the fecking thing?
Yes, know it only too well.

Of course, but it's so rare we actually watch anything 'live' that it's almost always possible to fast forward the ads....

No-one criticised Alan Freeman for his Brentford Nylons ads.

And neither they should. Not that I really know what you're talking about!
