Why is everybody so sure it's not "Cheggers" voice? According to Winkpedia the boy had a brief pop career (After his brief serious acting career!)Number 39 in the Bulgerian pop charts? Not to be sniffed at!!!!!!!!

Because he'd sing with a birkenhead accent...not really I'm pretty sure its not him, he was one of those saturday cinema child actors not a singer - only when he had a TV career did the music industry crank into action for their crap pop records business. y'see its all business. I asked Andrew King about this in the mid-80's and he seemed to think it was a a contact through EMI Abbey Rd, they'd know where to find boy soprano's. Me and Mr King agreed that their 2nd album (which he produced) was their best recorded work

Is that a compilation of released stuff or something else? & is the book in print. Wouldn't mind reading about them. Have heard something about them becoming an acoustic band because the band they developed out of Giant Sun Trolley or something like that having its electric instruments stolen. Later incarnations of the band do start incorporating electric instruments as can be seen on their Beat club appearance on the Lost Broadcasts dvd. Somebody posted this to Facebook sometime last week. Them in full acoustic mode on French tv in 1970, presumably Pop2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7oI2-S7W55A Stevo

Thanks for the links. It's piece of happenstance that this thread's been resurrected, because I've just started exploring their back catalogue properly for the first time, and colour me impressed indeed. They're like an English Popol Vuh. I do recall seeing them many years ago at Club Dog in Finsbury Park (around 1990 I think) and being pretty captivated at the time, but I was much too out of it for the actual content of what they were playing to stick in my head this long. I only remember that one piece was introduced as "Sun Ra Raga".
