Miles Davis and Gil Evans complete sessions.Awesome and enough variety to keep me happy for a while.

Great stuff. After Miles came back in the 80's i always thought he should have touch back with Evans.

Ideally, I would have loved Miles to meld his Electric period to Evans. 'On the Corner' shows how far he could go., but Evans would have cemented the tonal with the atonal.

Miles and hip hop?Intriguing.

Glad to see that Boxsets are within your terms of reference.Citizen Steely Dan also would entertain for a while....

Miles did hip hop near the end of his life, and its okay.

No, this is more avant garde and funk.

Of course there are also the unreleased Prince sessions from the 80's.

He had his break down, disappearred for five years. He realized more than anyone else there was nothing more to do., by 1975.

Punk was around the corner, fusion had taken prog's wankery to the nth level. Nihlism and reductionism were inevitable.

I suspect that it was not quite as cut and dried as that but if the man had only done Kind of Blue we would have all still been going ''we're not worthy''...then add all the other stuff and analogies with Picasso of jazz not unsound.
