Yes! A new Ptolemaic Terrascope at last!
Oct 16, 2007, 21:46
After waiting a while (like, years) for my subscriber copy of PT to appear it's finally here! It landed with a happy thud on the doormat this morning. The new management have got it back up and running with a lovely mix of eclectic interviews and reviews. Hurrah for its return! I'll miss the old PT but I welcome back the new.

From the website http://www.terrascope.org/home.html :

Now available - the 36th issue of the Ptolemaic Terrascope magazine. this is the biggest issue yet with 112 pages, first issue to be "bound" and not stapled and with a full color cover.

FEATURES/Interviews include: Devendra Banhart & Andy Cabic talking about 1960's British folk music, plus interviews with British folk legends: Shirley Collins, Davey Graham, Vashti Bunyan, and Michael Chapman. And interviews with Ron Asheton of the Stooges, Skygreen Leopards, electronica artist Colleen, Ben from Six Organs of Admittance, Elaine Brown of the Black Panther party.

A bonus 20 track/20 artist CD includes the following previously unreleased highlights:

Barbara Manning & the Go-Luckys "Crazy Man Michael" (the Sandy Denny/Fairport Convention song)
Steve Wynn "Punching Holes In The Sky" (just Steve and his guitar)
Doug Yule "After The Fall Redux" (a new solo recording from the Velvet Underground member)
Kendra Smith "Temporarily Lucy" (from a live radio session)
Steven Roback "Black Shade of Blue" (a new solo recording from this Rain Parade member)
Six Organs of Admittance "The Manifestation"(from a live radio session)
Ruthann Friedman "Raining Down On My House" (a demo from the late 1960's)
