I gots mine today! Dropped a minor orgasm as I fled down the stairs to the letterbox. I've been out all day so I've not listened to it yet, but it sounds like a corker! Dunno if this is just me taking it to extremes, but has anyone noticed the quality of the packaging seems to have been upped a bit? I've not dug out the Cain'd Orgasm in some time but it seems a lot more sturdy.
For the record, did anyone else like Drain'd Boner? It's a head fuck but I really liked it!
And Jog, in case you read this before I speak to ya, the spine reads "IF YOU GOTTA FRIEND IN JESUS STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM ME" Classic!!!

People "thought the worst" because of some of the strange stuff in his Drudions when coupled with the song titles and his "I prefer destruction and nihilism" Götterdämmerung thing. Straw that broke the camel's back etc.
Having played the album through three times today I am still not convinced that he's not playing some weird game of killing one's inner humanist. Though it's hard to tell and I am beyond caring about the opinions of even my most beloved rock stars.
Sonically it's all pleasingly lo-fi garageband stuff but short of tunes and when it comes to digging into the meat of a subject it is not exactly Roy Harper is it? You may see that as a good thing but I think of Roy and JC as kindred spirits in many ways. They even face similar micro controversies from time to time. This is worth a read if you can spare half an hour ......

I should have prefaced this by saying that as a total listening experience I play the Dogntank record, the Brain Donor albums, the Lethbridge 2xcd set and the Rite series a lot more than any record of songs JC has recorded since Autogeddon. I am sure I will find four or five gems for the on going iTunes JC playlist but it's not looking like joining the front rank of Cope albums. For me at any rate. Time will tell.

Yeah, mine came through today, some good tracks, some growers and some fillers, esp on cd2 for me anyways.
Personal taste I suppose, but I think it's the best album he's released in a while!!

As for YGPWM, My word it's Godlike! One of the best albums I've heard in a long time! Definitely rivals Cain'd and Orgasm. I was shocked how melodic it was in parts. My highlights were Woden, Sick Love, Hidden Doorways, Shame Shame Shame, Doctor Know, Soon To Forget Ya, You Gotta Problem, and Beyond Rome. Wow there's not a lot left after that...
What do I know...but I think it seems like he's bridged the gaps between his previous psychedelia, rock and garage, making for one hell of a performance! He's still got it!
