"Sneaky" Pete Kleinow RIP
Apr 05, 2007, 11:53
Just read his obituary in the Grauniad. My life and marriage wouldn't have been the same without the Flying Burritos. I met him last year and though obviously not well was a nice enough bloke. He changed country for the better and not many can say that.

RIP Sneaky Pete. Country rock isn't my bag but the Burrito's were an exception in that regard.

Downloaded a Flying Burritos Brothers set from 69 with Gram Parsons still on board. JUst been listening to it on my walkman and Sneeaky Pete's all over it.
Most enjoyable.
Got it from the Trader's Den & I know there's another set up on dime sans Gram from a year later.

Good with the Burritos but I think his best playing is on Gene Clarke's "Roadmaster " album especially Here Tonight. He makes the pedal steel sound like bells ringing.

Peace , Lubin
