I bloody love this song/tune. I've only got on tape from VU - Another View. I understand there's a long version on some live CD set.
Does anyone know if the Throwing Muses version is on anything that's currently available? Or another by Luna?

There was a Muses single in 1992 called Firepile that was released in two CD versions. CD2 had Ride Into The Sun as a b-side.
Availability?
I'll check. If I have the single at home, I could get it on to my PC and e-mail you the track.
Alternatively, Gnomon is very likely to have it.

Dunno about extended live versions, but there's a version on the first S/T Lou Reed solo album. Like most of the album, it's pretty horrid.

There's also a reasonable demo version sung by Doug Yule on the "Peel Slowly And See" box. Yer right about that first solo album though - that version of "Ocean"on there is especially ghastly.

There is a tremendous version on "Bootleg Series, Vol. 1: The Quine Tapes" that clocks in @ 11 minutes. There's also a lovely version on the expanded version of LOADED.
