"Hanging Out" lyrics

Was listening to PS today and realized I've never been quite sure wha the words are following
"C'mon split my head wide open,
Scoop out a little of my brain
Need some identification, Julian Cope.......?
The first time sounds like "the very sane", the second like "you're a saint"
Anyone know for sure?

'The very same', as in 'Are you Spaceship Mark?' 'The very same'.
Amusingly misquoted on the Live 91 sleeve as 'The very sane' (along with 'out of my mind on rope and speed'....
At least that's my thinking, partially confirmed by the bit on 'Radio Sit-In' where Merrick phones in and Julian says 'Is that Merrick Goghaven?' and he says 'The very same'.
(slopes of realising extreme geekness has been revealed)

deliberately vague to sounsd like either 'the very same' or'very sane' i always guessed/assumed.
I'd plump for same if absolutely forced to tho.

If you listen to the version he played on the Wireless session way back in '89 I'd say without a doubt it was 'the very same'.
Shame that version wasn't on 'Floored genius 2' as the guitar work is quite the ticket.

Hmm. I'll answer that as well as I can....
The name comes from some separate message boards created by a buncha regulars from here (very roughly a year ago I'd guess) after criticism that people were talking too much irrelevant bollox on this board.
Some of 'the fluffies' don't use the boards here any more as (rightly or wrongly) they felt that the criticism was aimed at them personally. Most (I think!) people who use the fluffy boards come here too tho, to varying degrees. Just to give a few examples - me, amazon & Vybik Jon use both.
Hope that helps, without raking up too many bad memories for people who were upset by it all at the time.
