<insert name here> and the Blockheads
Jul 12, 2004, 21:55
There's this Ian Dury tribute album out, with famous musos performing with the blockheads, various Ian Dury songs.

None of them are particularly unsung, apart from reckless Eric perhaps, who I've never heard of,

but Robbie Williams and the Blockheads?

Paul McCartney and the Blockheads?

Shane McGowan and the Blockheads?

The list goes on.

So has anyone heard this album?

Go on... What's it like?

There is a review of it at amazon, here: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00005OWIV/103-4828531-5839004?v=glance

you can understand why robbie williams did it, but paul mccartney? that's like cliff richard joining joy division instead of the drummer's girlfriend.

Ian is one of my fave punks. Wreckless Eric is a contemporary of Ian.
I definately support the effort....

Is this the 'Brand new boots and panties' thing that came out in 2001, I brought it, its OK, but the original is one of my favourite albums and it wern't gonna compete.

Madness, Billy Bragg, Wreckless Eric, shane Mcgowan and keith Allen have decent contributions, the rest have been deleted from my MP3 player, never to be heard again

Really?

Really.

"How would you like one pumping and blowing in your ear-hole?
Or pissing in your swimming pool?"
