Safe Concerts

Hope you dont mind double posting but i know we dont all use all the forums.

Knowing your all regular gig goers i thought you could please take a moment to look at this website

safeconcerts.com

I'm friendly with the founder of this site and fan based input is really needed. The industry are activly taking part but without more comments from the punters we cannott be heard by them.

I personally think that we have a responsabillity to look after ourselves and each other at concerts and a bit of ruff andd tumble comes with the territory. I don't go to many arena type concerts which i think have bigger problems perhaps but i'm sure weve all seen fights before at gigs were no one from the venue has intervened. and been to gigs were the capacity has been eceeded and it's been a horrible experience because of it. Water being charged for at stupid prices etc. The site also points out that on a lot of tickets these days in their printed terms the venues/promoters absolve themselves of any responsibility for any occurance that might take palce.

I will allways be thankfull to the nice lady at the Lyric who took me down from the balcony to the front, not just because because i then got to be at the front and cause even more trouble but because i know she was activly worried for my saftey.

Write reviews of the gigs you go to good and bad and take part in the forum, talk to the promoters who are regularly posting and tell them what you think.

I also know she is looking for bands who support the issues raised here to contact her so please pass on the addy to anyone who may be interested, she may get some t-stirts etc printed for you to wear onstage to spread the word. The industry is worried, people are speaking up.

Don't reply to my thread if you have any comments to make, put them on safeconcerts.com instead.
