I never thought this was going to happen within the forseeable future, and probably not within the lifetime of the two principals: http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/news/04-04/27.shtml They're going to reissue the first three Kraftwerk albums!

Somebody on the Krautrock II site pointed out that the official Kraftwerk site advert for the upcoming reissuesstill only starts with autobahn. I hope that's an oversight Stevo Np Ghost Lamarabirabi Marrakech

'BOUT FRICKIN' TIME!!! Although it does sort of contradict KW's prior policy of tacitly 'disowning' their early albums. Guess they got tired of losing money to Germanofon. Also potentially interesting in the same article was the point made about the "Electric Cafe" reissue...which will be reissued as "Techno Pop", which is what it was supposed to be in the first place. However, that album was also supposedly different musically, so it'll be interesting to see if this will be a 'fully repaired' version, or just the same thing with new title, art, etc.

I've heard a couple of the "analog demos" from the original Techno Pop album -- they are indeed better than the redone "digital versions" on Electric Cafe. At least to my ears! (Warmer & more funky.)

This is really exciting news, thanks for posting this. I also just found out via the pithfork link that Orbital had split. Although it ain't a massive shock as they've had a good run, still sad to hear they will be no more :(
