McDonalds’s in a bid to attract health conscious and green customers is to sell organic milk from February in its UK restaurants. Only milk with the soil association logo will be sold and the scheme could be extended to include its dessert creams. Hmmmm??

Yeah I had to laugh at their posters proclaiming they use only free-range eggs... that farm must be the size of Wales .o0O0o.

They keep trying this sort of thing.... They brought out a vegetarian range at one point. Presumably for the teenagers who go veggie for fashion reasons for a few weeks...? Dunno.

Heard a thing on radio about how they're closing branches across the states. However, they have a few new chains under their wing which are thriving. eg. A burrito chain where the emphasis is in lo-fat.

It really does give us hope that the burger is losing its popularity. McD's have seen this coming - a coupla years back they bought a one-thrid stake in Pret A Manger and haven't used the position to make PaM into a burger joint - rather, they seem to have spotted that people like food that tastes good and doesn't leave you feelign queasy and greasy afterwards.

Great article grufty jim. Maybe McD's realise that if they are to carry on they need to encompass a wider range of food tastes which also happen to include healthier options. No bad thing surely but they need to be careful as to where to focus their energies on this one or else they could end up being all over the show.

There was a feature on McDonalds lack of profits on C4 news tonight. Their nutritionalist said it was the high calorie content that people didn't like. But it ended on the 'positive' note that lots of people ate there.
