Where the fox hat!
Dec 17, 2002, 12:08
From BBC News:
"Up to 2,300 pro- and anti-hunt campaigners staged a demonstration, some holding flares, and many blowing whistles and horns."

following a helpful member of her majesty's finest 'advising' me to avoid Parliament Sq last night, the copters and siren wailing riot police vans were too tempting so I went to see what it was all about. V disappointed at what it was. Yes, they were very noisy (bloody bugles). Yes, there were flares (fucken designer clothing). No, there were not 2,300 people there. Hmmm "Up to". I'd be surprised if there was even 500.

But, what I'd like to know is why they seem to have adopted the confederate flag? Do the really hardcore protesters wave swastikas?

are you suggesting that the press and police adopt a different approach to the countryside alliance?!

Sir, I am ashamed to hear such cynicism ...

I think the confederate flag is for solidarity with their transatlantic fellow gentry the Dukes of Hazzard

I see, I think. I just assumed it was the landed gentry that thought the abolition of slavery was just 'political correctness gone mad'.

*cue long discussion that the American civil war was really nothing to do with slavery...*
