that'd still be less than last timw wouldn't it?
200,000 on the road from Basra alone , not to mention all those dead from disease and sanctions afterwards

No, its forecasting higher deaths than the previous war as its just looking at the war deaths and immediate aftermath, as opposed to sanctions related deaths. The next war would not be guaranteed to avoid even more deaths in the long term, and with a bigger battle, more DU etc all over Iraq the total figures could compare to the total deaths over the past 10 years. The report estimates 3.9 million people dead if Hoon carries out his threats to illegally nuke Iraq. And that is assuming that the war doesn't spread, that populations sympathetic to Iraq sit on their hands and accept it.
