The Unheard Story of Hurricane Katrina

Say what you like about RT but they give a depth of coverage to subjects that you are not going to see on Newsnight.

This is the Breaking The Set show broadcast for the 9th anniversary of Katrina.

Well worth watching, if only in the context of the continuing enthusiasm for racist, right wing politics in central Europe. Not hard to imagine elements of this story being transposed to the current migrant trail ....

As an American with Democratic politics, i'd love to be able to discuss this. {'specially since it's raining cats outside}
But time has revealed over and over again, that anyone that steps to one side or the other of the narrowest accepted points of view here on this particular sub forum is going to be subjected to attack by those least likely to posit there own points of view first.
Woe to those who blunder into their midst.
It's just like chess, who makes the first move and who draws first blood.

It's a damn shame really.
But it's exactly everything thats wrong with this world.

Anyway,

Crickets.....

Edit: added Crickets chirping

"And lo! dhajie wept. He wept for, looking to the earth and to the heavens, He found Himself alone. No one had argued with Him in minutes, and His body crumpled in a state of extreme torpor. 'I was sent here to redeem their souls by arguing with them, and they do not argue! If t'is true that to argue is to live, then do I not now live?'. And, as if in answer, a good Samaritan appeared, whom dhajie immediately called a member of the wooly liberal thought police, drawing his hapless victim into an argument which lasted for days and filled dhajie with a sense of renewed purpose. 'I live. I live again!'"

Congrats. Cash is preferable, but I also take traveller's cheques.

Making yet another I could tell you what I think, but I don't have time/they won't let me post on a thread about the senseless mismanagement of a disaster which could have been curtailed significantly if the victims were not poor and black...just so you could get out of doing the cooking. What a rum old chap you are.
