Such marches speak for themselves, but it is heartening to think that people actually get out there and speak out. All I would say that authority rests with all of us, and it is our responsibility to act as well as chatter on forums....

This is something I remembered today, when the Newbury protest against the road in 1996 took place, such a long time ago. For me it is slightly over sentimentalised in Mark Carroll's voice over, but notice how the police and security people cluster round the old oaks protecting their destruction. The horses are but a whimsical drama point of course... 'The Wild Horses of Newbury'
