The day 'union' was painted as a pariah (as unfortunately has fevered many up here) is the day any idea of what the left ought to stand for died.
Hell even Cameron is stoking up his very own version of 'English' nationalism.
I am sure will make many a skin crawl.
Nationalism is, was and will always be a sickenss.
The SNP isn't nationalism. It's socialism. You know that, and I know that.
I can't see it. The SNP come across to me as populist rather than socialist. In other words they will propose any policy that will advance their electoral standing *nationally* and therefore advance the move towards independence. Philosophically the SNP looks to me like a regionalist and centrist / social-democratic party. I see nothing in the SNP's history that suggests we can expect a socialist agenda from them over the long haul. If they get the result the polls are indicating I would love to be proved wrong but fear the worst.
