... run that by me again! http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/2404051.stm "Iraq: Evidence of stocks are said to come from UN weapons inspectors, prisoners from the Gulf War found to be immune to the disease ..." What does that section mean to you? How did they find out that prisoners from the Gulf War were immune to it?

Usually i love a good conspiracy theory... but it's pretty easy to test for the presence of antibodies in the bloodstream (well i know it is for certain tropical diseases... i'm assuming it's the same for smallpox).

Obviously, but how did they take the blood samples? Probably not with the full cooperation of the subjects I assume. Surely there could be a likkle human rights violation there somewhere. Actually, this story has far more sinister implications. It states that Russia gave the virus to Iraq and that France has a secret stash too. Now. Doesn't that point the finger of shame at the two countries opposed to action against Iraq? Could we soon see an about face in the Security Council?

those Russians look like a right dodgy bunch. Chemical weapons against their own people *and* foriegn nationals, smallpox, tetris, all kinds of shit If they didn't have so many nuclear weapons that actually worked *and* could reach the US, they'd be in deep shit now ...

Surely > there could be a likkle human rights violation > there somewhere. > Never! I refuse to entertain such an idea! That our military might contravene the legal rights of those it captures? Why, that's treasonous talk! Anyone notice all the media coverage surrounding the fact that there are still hundreds of men locked in small cages on Cuba having never been charged with anything? No, me neither.

The fact that Iraqi military personnel are immune to smallpox must mean they were immunised by a small pox vaccine, hardly proof of a weapons capability.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/2414505.stm It seems that Russia and France may no longer oppose the new reolution.
