Cities in the UK are wise. It's the countryfolk in middle England whom I despise.

What a facile generalisation.

Cities = Cool/Right on.

Countryfolk/Middle England = Despicable.

Has it occurred to you that there's also plenty of arseholes of all hues in the cities, and plenty of clued up decent people, who live in rural areas, and some can be (gasp!) 'middle class', as well ?

There's many aspects of rural life that are being destroyed by an out of touch elite who don't even care. Carve it up/rip it up. One only has to look at the dire threat that our landscape and environment is under now. This is at the behest of the Londoncentric political mindset, across the board, because they are all neo liberal free marketeers when it comes down to it. The destruction and pressure that many aspects of rural life are under is frequently campaigned against by those that live there, but completely ignored and run rough shod over. Many, city dwellers, not all, are more or less oblivious of this, and some just don't care. All these issues are very complex, but rural England is taking a very real kicking out of greed, profit and political popularity, and it's a kicking it may very well never recover from. Rural people are angry, and they have every right to be.
