Crass tacky, and the rest

One of the buildings is still used to store human asylum seekers, who will be stored elsewhere while the demolition takes place, all in the name of sports and spectacle.

We had these slum flats near here done up very nicely, something tells me that sort of thing could be possible.

Massive vertical villages taking up less land, sounds like a bit of a solution.

As someone commented elsewhere, would be like Brazil bulldozing a couple of favelas 'fore the world cup.

Bloody awful state of affairs.

Over 12,000 people have signed a petition stating their objections, and the games committees may just have to do a U-turn.
Good.

Yeah people power worked here for sure.
Even though Salmond made a pathetic pretend statement about safety issues suddenly being an, eh, issue.
Perhaps they could launch him into space and screen that instead?
