Here's the deal: you're disabled and on benefits, and a vast amount of so-called middle England views you as an inherent scrounger. You're struggling on ESA, and get caught doing the odd bit of cash in hand. No one hurt or any harm done, but you could get banged up very easily. You're homeless and out of necessity you get caught shoplifting so you can survive, and you get a criminal record.

You defraud £40,000 although you already have a personal mulit-million pound fortune that you earned in the City, prior to venturing into Politics. ( Even if you had been entitled to the forty grand, under those circumstances to claim it in the first place would be obscene). Anyway, you get caught pilfering, you use your sexuality as an excuse that is an appalling insult to gay people , you get put on Gardening Leave for a couple of months, and then you get handed a nice fat job back as a result, whilst other thieving politicians from the other side have rightly been sent down. We all know it's just 'unfortunate luck' for the poor old fat cats who get caught out, and otherwise it's business as usual.

However, this is way beyond taking the piss. It's a fucking outrage.

Hey, I am not "trolling"...and will comment further, if a thread develops...but my 1st impression is this is just "rambling"..
I am not a particular D Law fan..and am mindful that some folk in the public eye do find difficulty in their sexuality becoming public knowledge....
So I might be a bit sympathetic, but would/will expect much more from our politicians moving fwd.

Well, it might be a ramble but the undeniable facts are that Laws claimed £40,000 expenses fraudulently, but no serious punitive action was taken against him as he was 'on side', and he's now in line for another prominent position. I also think to use his sexuality as an excuse for this fraud is a gross insult to gay people.

If you had your hand in the till at work, and when caught out, made a pathetic excuse and handed the cash back, what do you think would happen to you?

Edit: Considering the current trend of baying for the blood of the 'workshy' and benefit fraudsters,( re. DLA, the reality is between 1-5 %, but hey, who needs facts ) the level of bare faced hypocrisy in this instance is staggering.
