The thing about the BNP is that their extremism on matters of race is both a magnet to voters and its achilles heel. The first nutter taken out of his home in cuffs having been caught with a larder full of C4 and who turns out to be a card carrying party member will bring the whole house down single-handed. Wont play well in the Torygraph, the Mail or the Express. Even less so in the tabs who will want to swing the far right vote back to Cameron.

It might happen. It might not. But would you bet against it?
