There's a bit in Stanislaw Lem's 'The Cyberiad' where we are told the tale of two warring cities.
One of the cities, knowing their enemies weakness, stops attacking the walls and instead catapults babies into their city. As the target of this barrage of babies cannot help but minister to the needs of all these infants, their expenditure for formula and diapers and baby cribs overwhelms their military budget and they are forced into surrender.
