The way intensively farmed turkeys, and other intensively farmed are treated is a f***ing discgrace, and schoolchildren should be made to watch real life footage of it happening so they can make decisions based on the actuality of the situation rather than the benign consumer-freindly exterior presented by the meat industry. In all seriousness though, I can't see what encouraging meat-eaters to give up meat for one day is going to make. Surely decisions like that have to be for life, otherwise they can only ever consitute a token gesture.
