Road Culture gets you where?

I don't know where road culture is taking us, but it sure ain't getting us there. We have such expectations we always need to get back home sooner than later. If road culture stopped today, we'd all plan our journeys more carefully and stop off on the way to see friends we never see, and make a right old pilgrimage of it. If you know you might get home to your own bed, you always try to. But if you know your away for a while, you chill out and start to slow down. I do anyway.
