It's just way too fucking easy for a disturbed person to do this sort of damage.
Once again, the old argument that defenders of gun freedom always trot out, that "if they didn't have guns they'd just use clubs and knives" is rendered meaningless. The culpability of these type of people in a case like this is damning. They persist in championing the 'right' to own almost any sort of weapon. And to no small degree, they even encourage this kind of senseless mayhem by reinforcing the perception in the minds of unstable kids that guns will make them powerful. What a carrot to dangle in front of an emotionally disturbed kid- instant godhood, the ability to destroy with ease.
Mentally disturbed individuals with easy access to high powered weapons have become a trademark of American culture, and still the fucking gun lobby owns Washington.
