It's a pretty grim scenario even if you just look at it as just Iran in isolation but in reality the consequences might even be far worse, the Iranian nuke debate being just part of the playoff between the US (and NATO) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization led by China and Russia for the dominance of Central Asian and Middle Eastern oil and gas supplies. Even if the US and the UK aren't mad enough to attack Iran, it's not beyond the realms of possibility that Israel won't have a pop anyway, but then a retaliatory strike by Iran on Israel would be the perfect pretext for a bigger attack by the US wouldn't it?
