Small hole in a stupidly large building with walls built to survive an incredibly large blast, I don't reckon it's that surprising. Same with the lack of footage, they're a bit secretive about the place and don't get many vid cam carrying tourists either.
Vanity Fair published online the audio tapes from NORAD during the event (from the opperation rooms and all the phone and radio traffic), they pretty much put paid to any conspiracy theories. They were completely clueless and ineffectual during the event, and there were many hours of them.

Well, I trust them, and apply occams razor as said in this thread (being as I'm an ex-information theorist by trade anyhow) than I do yourself going 'oogly-boogly' with no scientific or other technical background at all.
Edit : yep, 30 hours is sooo.. easy to fake. And, fo course, Vanity Fair has no history at all of reporting stories unpopular to the administration *sigh*.
