Quotes from an article on wired-gov.

"We will extend the entitlement for disadvantaged pupils to free transport for children living in low income families to any of the three nearest secondary schools, where these are between 2 and 6 miles from the child's home so that parents do not see distance and travel as a barrier to choice."

Let's not improve the schools local to these children then?

"Schools will find it much easier to expand and offer more places to parents that want them for their children and to federate with other schools. At the moment, the expansion of any school has to be approved by every other school in the local area. No more. We will abolish School Organisation Committees. We need to re-weight the decision making process in favour of the school that wants to expand, rather than those who object."

How much more of a two-tier vision could there be?

"We will act on the recommendations of the Steer Group on Behaviour by introducing a clear and unambiguous legal right for teachers to discipline pupils, extending parenting orders and expecting parents to take responsibility for ensuring their children are supervised when excluded."

Pure blue sky thinking with no grounding in the reality of life in some areas of the UK.

We're not paid to come up with ideas for this, however that should not stop us complaining about something we feel is wrong. He should also consider putting out ideas forward if we have any, I don't.
