Underground Bases & Tunnels
Sep 05, 2001, 21:34
Hey, anybody know of any in their area? I find the subject totally fascinating. Over in Ffestiniog there's the Bwlch quarry - part of it was used to store art treasures during WW2. Apparently the cavern is huge. The floor is 10 feet deep rock debris, there were small buildings in which the art was kept. In the centre of the village there used to be a church (it later was moved to a location 100 metres away from its original siting); when the pub was built, they created a cellar for it. The cellar apparently cut into a tunnel that was assoicated with the old church - maybe there was a crypt there. According to some guy, some of the US military bases are connected underground by tunnels and magnetic levitation train networks. I worked in a slate quarry and sometimes went near tunnels that had been cut into the rock and there's a real vibe there. Tunnels, yum, yum.
