My sister went to Uni at Falmer, not too far away. She reckoned that Firle, and Lewes, I think, were the creepiest places she'd ever been to. Usually, they burn effigies of the Pope and various saints. In complete silence..........

I think I went to that one year and they burnt a big Thunderbirds rocket. This latest one is unforgivable though - effigies of real people (ethnic minorities as well) being burnt next to blazing crosses. Yeeuurgh.
