I was on the TV on Saturday Night!! Wish I'd brushed my hair and worn something more TV friendly (My bright red Debbie Harry T-shirt def not TV friendly!!) :o)
Anyway, the anti BNP March went well, not a HUGE turn out but enough to stop the traffic! Leafletting went well yesterday. Was shocked to speak to one elderly lady yesterday when I gave her a copy of Searchlight, to find she had been visited about 2 hours early by our local friendly BNP candidate and was told that one of their main policies would be to end Child Abuse and Attacks on the Elderly!! She was convinced by them! Such a shame that the vulnerable groups are targetted in such a way... lets hope she also reads other literature and forms a biased opinion!

yeah, I did see that outreach to the Nonce Community being one of the recurrent themes in the manifestos in *all* the major parties around here
talking to all the local councillors is really beginning to make my head spin
we've done 28 out of 44 so far ...

Must say we had a good turn out of local councillors on the demo on Saturday, 2 labour, a conservative (thou after Ian Duncan Smiths comments on Breakfast with Frost yesterday about Asylum seekers being put into 'camps' I don't think we'll see him about much!!) and the local lib dem guy... oh and the odd smattering of Socialist Alliance guys!

hmmm, not entirely sure i'd want bloody labour or tory councillors along to be honest, after all they are the wankers failing the working-class communities, and creating the whole climate the nazi's can operate in

Well at least they turned up, the predicted 100's who promised never did! Numbers count hun, especially on Demos like this....
The Gig in the afternoon/evening was packed to the rafters with people none of which went on the Demo!

hmm, yes, but tory fuckwits dont help at all. i mean if you were considering voting for the bnp, because the tories had thrown you on the dole, labour had done fuck all to help you, would a tory councillor coming along and going, 'o i say, the bnp are jolly rotten blighters you know, vote for my resepctable racism', would you listen to the fuck? or would you spit in their eye??

Agreed about tories to a certain extent necrop, but some of them are ok anti-rascism wise. when i was involved in an anti-deportation campaign in hackney the tory councillors were vocal/helpful and worked with other council groups to pass council resolutions supporting the campaign and also that helped getting tories in the house signing EDMs, not that these they helped, getting the tories out was wot did the trick. Mind you Joe Leibowitz (tory leader on the coucil) is not standard nice but dim tory I suppose. there are no BNP candidates standing in hackney - yay, mind you they were seen off by my huge 10 poster campaign last time round - hahahahahaha

Hoorah!! Maybe I'm not that silly afterall!! Good for you with the poster campaign!
We've got 5 of the BNP buggers up for election in Southampton and all from the same family! It's gonna be tough but we'll do it, fingers crossed!
