PHD candidates sought
Mar 13, 2003, 16:01
Please bring the following advert to the attention of potential
PhD candidates.

We are seeking applications for the following PhD topic at the
Palaeoecology Centre, School of Archaeology and Palaeoecology,
Queens University Belfast, to commence October 2003:

TIMING AND MAGNITUDE OF THE 8.2 KA BP COOLING EVENT

Full details of the project can be obtained from Dr Nicki
Whitehouse ([email protected]). Visit our web site
(http:www.qub.ac.uk/arcpal) for information on the School. The
successful candidate will hold, or expect to obtain, a primary
degree in Geography, Palaeoecology, Biology, Archaeology at 2i
or higher, or an equivalent qualification. A relevant Masters
(M.Sc.) will be looked upon favourably. Ideally the successful
candidate should have experience of looking at fossil insect
remains.

Funding will be dependant on the quality of applicant and is
competitive with other projects within the School. If funded, UK
nationals will receive a maintenance grant and fees; EU
candidates would receive fees only. Non EU candidates are
encouraged to apply as we have some awards for international
students.

Candidates should contact Dr Nicki Whitehouse by the 1st April
2003 for further details and application procedures.

Many thanks,

Nicki Whitehouse
