Stone circles.. re-aligned and restored??

Most stone circles/rows we come across are in remarkably good condition, a well known example local to me is 'boscawen Un'...some however lay in disrepair.Instead of allowing these wonderful structures to lie in such a state wouldnt you think it would make sense to re-align the scattered stones and restore them to virtually how they were???...many circles and arrangements have got many stones missing, but there are many who simply lie in disrepair, having beeen vandalised.....any comments or thoughts...
