Who's next?
Jan 27, 2003, 09:56
we've had suprisingly sensitive formula1 people and the LitterCache crew, all turning up. moaning.

so who's next to randomly show up, telling off FW for swearing?

I reckon the christians, complaining about idolatory or something

anyway, I can't help thinking the Cachers distinction between "our cache" and "their litter" is not unlike some religous types definition of a "just war"

watch them jump through hoops:

Re: when the going gets weird

...strange days.
I joined in on the Time Flyers stone burning forum and "normal" people seemed to regard us as a bit extreme.
There's a post on the geocachers thread about removing the name of a meeting place from another thread for fear of TMAers turning up and causing trouble.
As well as that weird one about Geocachers' being informed by the official Druids and Pagans that TMAers were "out of order".
The posting about the bad language i can kinda understand how that happened because TMA site has a different sensibility to the TMA forum.
...it would appear ladies and gentlemen that we may be gaining a reputation.

Anyone can be a fecking Druid, stick a smock on and carry a stick, wear a feather in your hat and give your self a stoopid title!

bad ass mo'f**kers
Jan 27, 2003, 10:46
who remembers the happy days of the Monkey Bulletin Board invasion? Few years ago now, but I found this message board where people were genuinely trading gibbons, chimps and other assorted apes.

Loads of genuine, technically adept primates suddenly appeared, flooding the board, with a range of messages saying "thank you for your interest in our welfare, but please don't keep us in your homes. Oh, and thank you for leaving your name, address and telephone number, that'll come in handy for sending around an angry gorilla to discuss the matter further"

the monkey people got pretty upset too, as I recall. The ones who didn't shit themselves ...

The druids and pagans would say we're out of order wouldn't they. Afterall, we object to them littering as much as we object to the gc bunch littering. What's more the druids and pagans definitely litter and deface sites that they themselves describe as sacred. Not just sacred once upon a time, but sacred to THEM! Not giving a sh*t about others that follow them to a place nor showing any regard for the site's future and the well being of the wildlife that spand far more time at these places than any of us.

Call themselves Mother worshippers!? She'd a blue fit at their carryings on. One of the biggest bunch of hypocrits there is.

Speaking as a pagan, I think you'll find that it's mainly the 'fluffy bunny' types that desecrate sites in this way. Aslan (and Sam's web pages - http://www.ravenfamily.org IIRC) are doing a lot of good to educate people. It's just that some won't be educated... :-(
