Sentry Circle - modern

Came across this today, a modern stone circle in Yorkshire near North Allerton. You can find it on the Meg.Port.
Pulling stones uphill is not for the fainthearted, but they did it though H/S would have had kittens as they manouvred the stone into place. Still the Winter Solstice approaches and there is something to be said for modern stone circles and long barrows to rejoice in prehistory.

Its a bit long.....

Watching the film just shows that a relatively small number of folks , inexperienced , and using a make shift sled can move a large stone with not too much difficulty . Whilst not one of the great sarcen stones , shows what can be done .

Yes, if creating something of such immense importance to the people of its time was a pre-requisite, then boundaries didn't exist IMO.

How far's Rudston supposed to have been moved? Some feat, and yup.
