Merleau -Ponty opened a lot of doors . Sadly the term associated with him and Husserl was misappropriated by some archaeologists to produce a lot rambling guff . If you are interested in embodiment in relation to the environment , can I suggest Tim Ingold ,who is "good to think with " .
