Hello,

Pop Tin

I thought I'd bring this little series to your attention:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b08966p2/episodes/player

"Series in which five different writers reflect on how a favoured location is determined by its underlying geology"

I've just listened to the first on quartz, in which the author Linda Cracknell talks about the properties of the stone. In so doing, she talks about cup marks and their meaning, and the sound of quartz on quartz...

Anyay, just thought I'd bung it up. It may be of interest. If you can get past the "This isn't just any rock, this is M&S time-weathered, lashed by wind and rain..." tone..

I haven't listened to the other four, but I see the last is Chalk.

Peace

Hi Pilgrim, lovely to see you back, even though it is only 'in and out'. Will listen, love these little gems that appear on the radio, one of my favourite poems is about chalk.
